Love your skin this February
Heartfelt Self-Care Tips
Hey lovely people!
As I take a little break, I wanted to remind you to keep showing yourself some love this February. Sure, I won’t be around for a while but that doesn’t mean your skincare and wellbeing routine has to take a backseat! In fact, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself to some DIY pampering. Here are a few tips to keep your skin glowing, hydrated and ready to face whatever this chilly month throws at you.
1. DIY Skincare Rituals: Let’s Get Glowy
Now, I know we all love a bit of professional TLC but you can absolutely give yourself some serious pampering at home. Trust me, a little love goes a long way for your skin and these easy rituals will help you maintain that beautiful, healthy glow.
Start with a gentle exfoliation: Over the winter months, our skin can get a bit lackluster, so let’s brighten things up! After a gentle cleanse, a lovely scrub will slough off dead skin and leave your complexion looking fresh and revived.
Hydration is key: The cold weather can be brutal on your skin (mine has become a bit dry of late), so make sure you're nourishing your skin with a rich moisturiser - I am loving BEE Cosmetics Rejuvenating Facial Cream at the moment. But don’t just stop there - add a hydrating serum underneath to give your skin an extra boost. Look for serums with hyaluronic acid or glycerin for ultimate moisture. For those nights when you need a little extra TLC, try a thick, overnight hydrating mask or an oil to really lock in the moisture.
Bonus: Treat your lips! Your lips need some love too. Use a nourishing lip balm (Weleda’s Skin Food Lip Balm is lovely) or make your own with honey and coconut oil. It’s like a little hug for your pout.
2. Love Your Skin: February is All About Self-Care
February is the month of love and while it’s all about celebrating with others, don’t forget to show yourself some love too! Your skin will thank you for it, and you’ll feel more relaxed and rejuvenated in the process.
Create a cozy, soothing skincare routine: After a long day, wind down with a calming skincare ritual. Start with a relaxing shower or bath (add some lavender oil for extra relaxation), then slather on your favourite body cream or oil. Your skin will feel silky smooth and you'll be ready to drift into the best night's sleep. When massaging your body, use upward strokes towards your heart to get your circulation and lymphatic flow moving.
Glow from within: Give your skin some extra love by boosting its radiance with a brightening facial mask - for the ultimate glow, slather on Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm. I’m also a huge fan of using Lisa Eldridge’s Skin and Makeup Enhancing Mist as a refreshing, hydrating moisture throughout the day. It’s like a mini spa in a bottle and it’ll keep your skin looking dewy and refreshed (and keep your make-up intact too).
Love your routine, love your skin: Remember, consistency is key! Even though I’m not around to give you your usual treatments, a regular skincare routine can work wonders in keeping your skin happy and healthy. Make sure you’re using products that hydrate, protect and rejuvenate, and don’t forget that SPF - yes, even under a grey sky!
So, while I’m off recharging, take this time to treat yourself to some self-care and keep that beautiful skin of yours in tip-top shape. Whether you’re indulging in a soothing body massage or adding a brightening mask to your evening ritual, your skin - and your soul - will thank you.
I can’t wait to see you all soon, but in the meantime, remember: you deserve to feel good, inside and out. So go ahead, show yourself some love this February.
